Hi there,
Thank you so much for all you do!
This week will be my first attempt at Walgreens. I see on the back of the ad there is a Walgreens coupon for $2.99 for 6 double rolls of Charmin Basic. Why don’t you have that on your list? I’m trying to determine if it is a good deal and if there are any other coupons that I could stack.
Thanks!
Jennie says
Congrats on making your first attempt at Walgreens Christa! 🙂 The Charmin Basic is not really that great of a deal in my opinion, but it really depends on how badly you need it. You can use the coupon database on the website to search for coupons. 🙂

Is anybody else not understanding the Hershey’s $5RR deal? The closest I can get is 66 cents a piece, and that’s if you buy (2) 2/$3 and (1) 2/$5 products and then use the $1/3 MQs. Is there something else I’m missing?
Jennie says
Melissa~ If you were to buy 5 at the 2/$3 price and 1 at the $2.50 price it will get you there…BUT Walgreens has issues a correction for this week’s ad. The $5 RR that you will receive will only be good off of more Hershey’s products…not everything in the ad. I hope that helps! 🙂

I am also confused about how to get some of those items that have coupons that are worth more. For example why would I buy 7 snickers eggs when the max limit is 6 and it would make more sense to use the *possible* overage from buying 6 for other stuff.
Shannon says
You don’t have to worry about the max limit. You can buy more than 6, and it’s still .29 a piece.

I am having a problem using the coupons that have higher value than the product. For instance this week they refused to give me a free reach floss which was .99 and I had a coupon for $1.00
I say this Gain coupon for a $1.00 and unfortunately the product costs .89 so I think I won’t get that for free either. Can you explain if this is correct?
Jennie says
Kim~ The Walgreens coupon policy states the following: “The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).”
Make sure to print it off and take it with you to the store. The link is at the top of this post. 🙂
Kim says
Hello Jennie,
Thanks. I printed out the policy as you suggested and took it to the store but still had problem. The cashier refused to do it and called the manager and the manager still said the system will not take it. I tried to argue with the printed policy but didn’t work out. Please suggest what should I do? Is there any way we can get this solved.
Jennie says
Kim~ That is crazy! I would talk to the store manager and if that doesn’t work then go to corporate. They are blatantly disregarding their own policy which is just not okay in my opinion….it is just pain confusing to us consumers if they are going to publish a policy and then refuse to honor it. I have had coupons adjusted down at Walgreens for years, so the registers definitely allow it. Sounds like a training issue. 🙂 Sorry for the frustration!
Kim says
I know, it is frustrating. Which Walgreen location do you go to? or may be I can have this manager call your store manager and she can learn how to do that.
Karen says
Apparently Walgreens is looking into changing how they do Register Rewards. 🙁 I was speaking a cashier last week and she said that some people are taking advantage of Register Rewards. For instance there was a young mother who bought Depends the week before to get the $10 RR and she wanted to return them the following week. Not only was this unethical, but I guess she wasn’t very nice about it. It’s too bad that a few people may spoil it for the rest of us.
