Have you checked out this week’s Walgreens deals yet? Well I just got word of a special promotion that is running tomorrow and it will make the bargains even better.
Tomorrow (Sunday April 7th) only shoppers will get 5,000 Balance Rewards points (worth $5) for every $30 or more spent in a single transaction in store or on the Walgreens website! Now keep in mind that this $30 amount will need to be reached after Walgreens sale prices and Walgreens coupons are factored in, but before manufacturer’s coupons.
Here is the fine print on this offer:
Balance Rewards point offer good 4/7/2013 except when otherwise noted. Points will not be earned in a transaction where Redemption Dollars or Store Credit is used. $30 must be spent in a single transaction and purchase amount is calculated before taxes and after all Walgreens Coupons and discounts are applied. Point Promotions will not apply to and Points cannot be earned or redeemed on purchases of: alcohol; dairy; tobacco; stamps; phone/prepaid/gift cards; money orders/transfers; transportation passes; lottery tickets; charitable donations; pseudoephedrine or ephedrine product; prescriptions, health tests, contact lenses or other healthcare items or services; Prescription Savings Club membership fee; Take Care Clinic services or certain items that are excluded in particular Point Promotions, and any other items specified as exclusions by the Company from time to time or where prohibited by law.
(Thanks Amber!)

Kristy –
Yay for you, and thanks so much for sharing….love when people post their successful scenarios so I have ideas and know they have a good chance of working. 🙂 Now if only I had your obvious organizational and pre-planning skills… ;-)…I haven’t even gotten my extra papers/coupons yet today much less gotten my store plan together. 🙂
Angie says
Oh, also – do you know if there’s a limit to the promo, i.e. can I earn, say, 15,000 points by doing three separate $30 transactions, and if so, is there a cap?
Jennie says
That’s another great question Angie and honestly I’m not sure since it’s not in the fine print. Maybe they will know more in-store, but I wouldn’t count on it. 😉

p.s. Thanks for sharing! Glad I started w/ Walgreens for my deals this week :)…maybe I can really score tomorrow! Love the Cascadian Farms deal. I’ve only been couponing more seriously for about three weeks, and I keep wondering how everyone gets such cheap or free cereal! Now I know :)….
Jennie says
Yay! Have fun with that deal! I’m pretty excited about it too! 🙂
Angie says
When it says: “Points will not be earned in a transaction where Redemption Dollars or Store Credit is used” – do you think this means you cannot use points or RR as part of (or all, if you’re awesome, ha!) your payment for the $30 transaction?
Jennie says
So you cannot use Balance Rewards Points to earn Balance Rewards points, but you should be able to use Register Rewards to earn them. Although I will say that the wording on this one is a little confusing. Please let me know anyone finds out differently for this promotion!
Angie says
Oh, duh. Forgot about that….*sigh*. My only frustration w/ Walgreens. I WILL say that it’s nice that, at the very least, my Walgreens does allow you to earn points w/ RR and vice-versa. I could use a few more opportunities to earn RR though ;-)…couldn’t we all??
Jennie says
I definitely agree with you on that! It would be so nice if Balance Rewards points could be rolled!
