I know there are a lot of photo book deals out there…. just an idea for summer fun and keep your kids reading/writing.
My kids are doing the library reading program in Douglas County. They received a “Dougie” (like Flat Stanley). We take Dougie places (we took him to the Rockies game yesterday) and take pictures with him. Then, my kids write in their journals about the fun event. At the end of the summer, I compile the scanned journal with the pictures into a photo book. Last time we did something similar, my kids LOVED reading their book over and over again and sharing it with their class at school.
