Well you guys (and gals ;)) know that I was a little hesitant to take on doing Albertsons coupon match-ups, but I’m so encouraged by all the shopping success many of you are having there. Thank you so much to those of you who have sent me e-mails and left comments about your trips. It really makes my day and all the hard work so very worth it! Check out the e-mail that I received from reader Amy tonight:
To thank you for posting Albertsons match-ups, I want to share with you how much I saved on my shopping trip today. I have been playing their Monopoly Game and some of the game pieces are Albertsons coupons. I used both Albertsons coupons and manufacturer coupons for the C&H Sugar and the Planters Peanut Butter. Another coupon I won through the game was a free bag of Cheetos. The Dentyne and Trident gum were on clearance for $0.96 each and I had (4) $0.75 off coupons which doubled, so the gum was free too. I paid $16.36 before tax. This would have cost $59.53. I saved $43.17 or 72.5%. As an added bonus, today was double Monopoly day, so I got twice as many game pieces as I normally would have, so more coupons to use next week.
Congratulations on your great trip Amy and thanks so much for taking the time to share. I know that some of you have had a rough week at Albertsons, but I hope that Amy’s trip is an encouragement to you.

I don’t know where to put this, but Ken’s Salad Dressing 16oz is FREE this week at Albertson’s. Use the $1/1 MQ from 3/11 and it is on sale for $1. Awesome!!

Oh my goodness, this Monopoly game’s made for some AWESOME deals recently!
They had a coupon in last month’s big ad for their generic brand burritos, 4/$1, limit 8. I ended up making several trips with several people last month for burritos (I feed two bachelors, these seemed like a no-brainer) and I got a monopoly game piece for EVERY burrito I bought. I got dozens over the course of the month.
Suffice it to say, I got free yogurt, free Eggo waffles, a free bag of Hostess Donettes, a free bag of dog treats, free Ragu pasta sauce, free 8 piece chicken, a free Snickers bar, free Albertsons brand cookies and close to 30 free Instant Win bonus game pieces. I also received the applicable number of extra game pieces for every free item I got.
Me ‘n my boys are just one piece away from more than a dozen prizes, and only two away from the big 1 million.
That said, I have all kinds of Albertsons coupons and duplicate game pieces I would be willing to share. Email me a list of the coupons or game pieces you need and a valid mailing address, I’ll send what I have to you next day. Good luck, with these game pieces everyone’s a winner!

$5000 Free Groceries – Tostitos

Hey not fair how come my Albertsons are not doing monopoly??

I am surprised they will let you use both the Monopoly piece coupons and the manf. coupons on one item. I’ve been told I couldn’t do that in the past -I’m going to try it again! Thanks!

The Monopoly coupons are store coupons, not manufacturer coupons, so I think that is why I was able to use both for one item. The checker didn’t question them and all the coupons scanned just fine.
I was a little worried my coupons for over $0.50 would not double, because their ad states coupons up to and including $0.50, so I thought that meant nothing over $0.50 doubles, but I was wrong.

Amy, I saw you got yourself some Challenge butter, I wanted to ask you if they scanned your Challenge coupons, and let them double.
I bought three boxes yesterday, and although the checker was super nice and hilarious to boot, he told me he had to manually enter the value of the coupon because the coupon stated ‘DO NOT DOUBLE’ and if he scanned it, it would double and he would get in trouble.
I just bought the butter because $1.45 each isn’t terrible, and I only used three of my coupons so I can try again at a different store (so long as you tell me your store doubled the coupon for you.)
Couldn’t find any specifics in their coupon policy, and often these things fall under the jurisdiction of the manager so I have yet to call corporate.

My Challenge butter coupons were printables and I don’t recall if they stated, “Do Not Double.” The checker scanned them and they doubled. I didn’t see him really read them and he didn’t question anything. They were for $0.55 off so I was worried they wouldn’t double because they were over $0.50. Good luck at another store. I hope it doubles for you there.

Hmm…maybe I won’t give up just yet. Now I’m bummed I told them I didn’t want their monopoly pieces!
