Morning Jennie,
I am signed up for the class next Sat, but wanted to see if you are going to cover write offs for taxes in your class? I am getting some confusing info from the websites I visit, saying that I can write off the full price of a product. My CPA says this is not true, you can only write off what you paid for it. Now, to be fair,he has not dealt with many couponers, so if you have any documented info that I could give to him, it would be greatly appreciated. See you next Sat. And thanks for all you do for us.

Hey Robin. Thanks for asking this in advance, since it will make it easier to answer here. In the past, when I’ve donated to food banks, they always give me a receipt based on the weight of the food and my CPA has taken it from there. I did do a little research online and found this. Check out page 12: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p526.pdf With that said, I am not a tax professional, so I have to advise you to listed to your CPA. If he or she is not giving you the answer that you think is correct, you can always try calling another one for a second opinion. 🙂
