Maybe others knew this already, but a heads up: If you do the BOGO deals such as the pistachios or the Malt O Meal cereal, Safeway will only let you use one coupon. Kinda makes sense on the pistachios, but I ran into trouble with the MaltOMeal, because the register would not accept the 2.00/2. I thought I was going to get a great deal for .40 a bag… Still not bad at .90/bag.
So for instance if you wanted to use (3) 2.00/2 coupons, you would have to put 12 bags in your cart. Because you are only “buying” 6 of them, in Safeway’s mind.
This happened at the Longmont safeway, but there are usually variances between the different Safeways I shop at, so it might work at yours. I don’t think I have encountered this before, so I thought maybe it was a new policy.
I did bite my tongue when the cashier told me they had to change the sofware because of the recent surge in couponing activity and couponers that didn’t understand how coupons were supposed to work. 🙂
The King Soopers catalinas I had worked great, as did the deal where they paid me to buy Old El Paso taco shells (BTW catalina deal is B3 get $1, B5 get $2).

Old El Paso taco shells were 99 cents a box. I bought three boxes and used two coupons from this past week’s newspaper coupons (50 cents off one and 50 cents off two). With the doubling of the coupons, this made the three boxes cost about a dollar. A catalina printed out for $1 off my next Safeway purchase.

THanks for the heads up on this! I went and used my (5) $.50/1 coupons and bought 5 boxes and a $3.00 catalina printed out making it a $3.05 money maker.

When a store coupon says minimum $10 purchase qualifies you for all coupons… does that mean $10 before I use the coupons or after all coupons are applied?

Quaker Instant Oatmeal is on sale for $3.99 BOGO. THere is a $1.00/1 coupon AND buy 4 get $2.00 cat back. Because their coupon policy states you can’t use a coupon on the free item, it makes it $1.00 a box if you buy 4. (I think you get $3.00 back if you buy 5 or more, so buying 6 should give you the same deal if my math is correct). If you have an oatmeal monster in the house like I do, it might be time to stock up.
And I bought a $25 iTunes GC and got a $5.00 cat back.
Good shopping trip since I didn’t expect either one!

There is also a $.55 Johnsonville sausage in the Joy to Football booklet. Also do not forget that will the past Sunday paper there was a sale on Skippy pb for a $1.49 with a store coupon and there is a coupon for $1 off in the Joy to Football booklet.

I dunno if it’s official or not, but mine always does. I’ve used catalinas from other stores frequently with no problem. They also scan with no beeps, FYI.

2 questions for ya….On the 12 pks with the (4) .75 coupons, wouldn’t that make each pack $1.25/each?? Also, why did you list a C for Digorno at $3.99 at Kings, but a B for same price at Safeway? Thank you so much for doing this!!!!
