Fuel Rewards programs provide us with a fantastic opportunity to extend our savings beyond the grocery store and out to the fuel pump! If you are not already taking advantage of Safeway’s Fuel Rewards Program, you should be! Here is everything that you will need to know:

There are three different ways that you can earn points to put towards savings at the gas pump:

Every 100 points that you ear will save you .10 per gallon for a single fill-up at a Safeway gas station. You can use your points in increments of 100 and use up to 1000 points for a single fill-up.

As a bonus, now through October 29, you can earn 4 times the Gas Reward Points when you purchase qualifying gift cards! For every $1 you spend, you’ll earn four points. You can buy gift cards and use like cash to quickly earn Gas Reward Points!

To celebrate this fantastic promotion Safeway has provided me with a $50 Safeway gift cards to give away to one Bargain Blessings reader! Entering is very simple, here are your options:

  11. I do use the Safeway fuel rewards on occasion. We have many more King Soopers pumps by our house though so we tend to go to the one we are closest to at the time. I’m glad they are competing with each other. Gives us more options! 🙂

  24. The Safeway fuel rewards program is a great way to save money on gas for our new family-friendly minivan! It’s very efficient and spacious and we love it, but it does require about double the funds to fill up the tank. What a great way to save by shopping for food at Safeway AND saving on gas! Plus, the Safeway gas station is right down the street from us, so it’s always been very convenient to fill-up there.

  36. I really like the Safeway Fuel Rewards program, because I can “add up” my 10 cents per gallon savings for a single purchase. I don’t have any savings that are “lost” because they expired before I used them.

  56. The fuel reward program sounds great, but the Safeway closest to us does not have a gas station for us to utilize. I am not sure where one is even close. But I do shop at Safeway! I have been a FB fan for quite a while now as well. 🙂

  60. I knew I had fuel points but never used them because the safeway fuel price is high. I stopped there the other day because I was OUT of gas, saved 90 cents per gallon on accident! Now I get it!

  81. I actually find the gas points a little hard to rack up now using coupons – but doing smaller transactions on the freebies can add up. Every bit helps though, so I’m for it!

  99. I like the fuel rewards program, but it requires that you have to buy something, which is fine as long as I’m shopping at Randalls anyway. But I can go to HEB and get .11 off per gallon just by using an HEB gift card, or I can get .10 off per gallon just by buying a Wal Mart gift card and using those at the pump.

  113. We don’t have a Safeway fuel place close. I also tend to try to do my shopping elsewhere when possible because 1. they’re a union store and our local one strikes frequently…2. they’re always out of everything on sale (coupons or not), and it’s such a hassle getting a rain check because then when you redeem it they have a hard time figuring out how to change the price.

I’m all about the fuel rewards, but my city doesn’t have the Safeway gas station to redeem them! 🙁 I’ve been hearing rumors that a gas station is coming soon, but I won’t believe it until I see it.   238. I love the Safeway rewards program! They are the closest and most convenient gas station to us. Also, since we live out in the boonies (Roxborough) we go to Safeway the most often despite where the best deals are, so we end up getting the cheapest gas!

  239. I love programs that reward you for doing things you would do anyway! Safeway is the only grocery store they have in my town so shop there frequently, and fortunately they have a fuel station, so that is where I always fill up. Love getting money off when I fill up!

  265. I am ready for gas prices to go down! Until then .10+ off gas is a saver! I got .20 off last week! Helps big time to fill up a diesel, but then again the pump shuts off at 100.00 so can’t get the full worth of the rewards!

  293. I love that they are offering the 4x reward points on gift cards. I just bought some as gifts for teachers at Kings and wish I would have waited! I am fortunate to have a gas station at my local Safeway, however I haven’t fueled up there very much. My KS gas station is on my daily route so I always go there, but might have to use the Safeway one more now. Thanks Jennie!
