Today, I went to Safeway with my V8 Smoothie coupon for $0.50/1 from SS 5/13 to stack with the $1.99 Safeway coupon from today’s ad. I was happy to pay $0.99 for these with the double. However, when I checked out with 3 (the limit for the $1.99 deal), I was very happy when a $2.25 RR printed as well!! That makes these a whopping $0.25 each! 🙂

thanks for the pricing on sunscreen. I wasn’t couponing last year & thought $4 a bottle was pretty good, so much to learn! There are so many stores to watch and then they want to you to come in on the weekends when it’s crazy busy. I’ve found myself paying more for stuff lately because I’ve just been too busy to get organized. It really does make a difference if you take the time necessary to coupon.
I watched the extreme couponing show while on my indoor bike the other morning. Thank goodness for sites like this that keep it realistic. On the show a gal spent 40 hours on couponing!? Missing time with the kids to clip coupons? No thanks!

I went ot Safeway today and was told that the Safeway store that I shop at is no longer acepting internet coupons. I told the guy that I know that they will not take them if they don’t scan and he said well yes that is true for some stores, but here (at the Safeway) I was at they no longer take them period. Has anyone else run across this same thing. I was pretty bummed whne I left Safeway. 🙁
Edna Lee says
Ok, so I talked to customer service and my internet coupons were honored; I was told that I misunderstood the cashier. Don’t know how I could misunderstand the statemeng “we do not accept internet coupons”. So, lesson learned; when cashier says soemthing that does not jive with the coupon policy, ask to see the manager.

I have a question about Safeway ads, we usually get postings for the ads that come out each Wed(which are extremely helpful!), but it seems like there are additional sale items or different coupons in the Sunday paper (or sales that are for Sun-Tue). This last Sunday there was a Safeway coupon for Banana Boat sunscreen, combined with a $2 off coupon I had & it would have only been $4 (I think, I never made it back in). Did I miss it in the Wed coupons or was it new?
I keep needing to buy products that I don’t usually buy (due to my crazy sensitive skin and my two kids becoming teenagers!) and am trying to figure out what good prices are!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
AMY says
I have noticed this too. A Safeway ad in Sunday’s paper with more sale items. I haven’t seen that anyone does match-ups for the Sunday ad. Today (Friday) there was a King Soopers ad for just the weekend, in my paper. I don’t normally see the additional ads for King Soopers.
I think a great deal on sunscreen is $2 or less for a bottle. Target had a deal a couple weeks ago on Banana Boat, where you got back a $5 gift card when you bought 2 and you could use Target coupons and manufacturer coupons. I didn’t get there that week so I’m holding out until I see any brand go this low again at any store.

Safeway has a coupon for hamburger helper .99 each limit 10 and we have save 1/3 making them aprox. .66 each and blue bell ice cream for 3.99 and there is a printable for 1/1 making them 2.99 each great deal!

If’n your @ Castle Pines, this morning it was hot dawg harmony in the meat clearance cave. They had several varieties of Oscar Mayer Selects @ 75% off. Regular price was marked @ $3.99. My abacus is rusty but I’m thinking if you use $1/2 Oscar Mayer Selects Hot Dogs or Bacon Product, exp. 6/30/12 (SS 05/06/12) – you’d wind up paying $.50 a package. Now that’s walkin’ in a weinie wonderland! I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t have my caddy with me so I’m going back tomorrow with ginfers crossed.
There’s also an in-ad coupon which will finally let you use those Reese’s cereal coupons if you printed them out – brings it down to $.99 for the 18oz box. Don’t know about you but it seemed like those coupons have been screaming “Use Me Use Me!” It’s nice to be able to do what the coupons want and make them feel loved.
Sun Drop sodi water is still @ $.99 so if you have any leftover coupons – free bubbles!

I looked though my SS 5/6 and did not get the Oscar Mayer coupons. What a bummer. My kids would love to walk in a weinie wonderland! 🙂 I thought it was regional until I saw your post. Did use the Reeses coupons today, though, before seeing your post. 🙂

I have also noticed the same thing. I do find a few really great deals each week that I may stock up on. The best deals I find are the unadvertised specials that I find while shopping. I have started carrying my binders with me all the time because I never know what unadvetised special I might find. Some weeks are better than others. I have also found some very good deals at Walgreens and Family Dollar. I did not know Family Dollar took coupons until a few weeks ago.

Leah,
I ran into a Dollar General yesterday looking for cheap flip-flops and found a stand at the front of the store clearing out Fancy Feast at $0.05 a can and Whiskas trays @ $0.20 a tray. Fancy Feast is normally $0.55 or higher per can at Walmart. My cats get a can each every day so this was an awesome score for me, the best part, they let me use the $1.00/24 cans Q I had, and because my ticket was over $10.00, I got to use a mobile coupon for $2.00 off my entire order. I will be checking out my local dollar stores much more often now!
Leah Frank says
Sharon,
Thank you for the valuable information. I will also be checking Dollar General for sales. Also, I don’t know if you have been to Dollar Tree stores because they also have some good deals. The store does not take coupons but do get some name brands for very cheap prices. My recent find has been Glass Plus cleaner. I am finding that cleaning coupons have been sparce recently. I priced Glass Plus last week at Walmart and it was $1.98. They currently have it at most Dollar Tree stores for $1.00. I also saw Lysol toilet bowel cleaner for $1.00. These days if I can find name brand cleaning products for $1.00 or less I think this is a good deal. It is worth checking out.
Thanks,
Leah
Sharon says
YW, I’m not sure if I have a Dollar Tree near me, but I’ll checking it out too!
Thank you Jennie for providing this place where we can meet and share these great finds!

Yes, I feel the same way. Even with coupons my grocery bill is still high.
AMY says
Is it just me, or does there seem to be fewer and fewer great deals (“A” grades) each week at all grocery stores?
Carolyn says
I feel the same way. Or at least the deals are not as great as they used to be.
I would never not use coupons, but I feel like I have to really search each week for what we need to have meals in our house. I am really stepping up my game and planning lunch time trips to the grocery store to take advantage of deals.

I feel the same way. That’s why I don’t know if it still worthy to get the Sunday paper and spend the time just for THAT KIND OF DEAL? I recently shop at Sam’s Club a lot, and I save a lot of time…
