This week at Safeway they are running a Buy 2, Save $2 Sale. Reader Teresa e-mailed me today with a fantastic deal that she was able to score while combining clearance marked items and this promotion! Here are all the details:
I wanted to share this awesome deal I got tonight at Safeway. I didn’t realize…I was paid .76 cents to take each, of the 8 I bought, out of the store.
Here is my receipt:
So there were 4 different smells that were on markdown (a bit cheaper than the others). They said $2.24 on the tag. I had the Manufacturer Coupon for $2 off of 1 AXE Shower Gel. So here I thought I was going to pay .24 cents for each one…
Well I got home and double checked my receipt and somehow I missed a Safeway card savings of $4 off of the 1st 4 I bought. So they paid me .76 cents each to take them out of the store. And as you can see on this receipt that it states -$3.04 (my credit for 4 AXE body washes).

Buy (4) Select Axe Shower Gels $2.24
-(4) $2 MQs (12/11 RP)
-(2) $2 Safeway Instant Savings for purchasing 4 participating items
=$3.04 Money Maker!

Went to Safeway today and got the Axe Shower Gel; it was not a money maker for me but at 0.24 each I was still happy.

Last week I bought three of these in Windsor, CO and they all rang up $1.00 less, so $1.24 and then with the coupon -$0.76. Sounds like it’s not working this week. I might check out the gift sets Melissa mentioned.

$.24 @ Castle Pines North. Boy howdy is that a great deal! The ‘stinks’ they had on clearance were Rise and Music.

Doesn’t work in Castle Rock. 3 scents here Music, AXE Shower Gel Rise with Himalayan Minerals + Lime Extract and I think the last was Instinct, but there was only 1 bottle left of that one. Got my 2 for 48 cents total.

Does not work in Fort Collins, but still a great deal at .24 cents! So no complaints here either.

It didn’t work for me either, but I did get 4 of them for under $1 all together… SO I’m not complaining 🙂

I was at the safeway at Mineral and I got 2 clearanced ones 2.24. They did not give the $2.00 off. I did not see any gift sets. Do you know where they were at your store?

I hit Safeway when they opened at 6am this morning. There are some Axe gels on clearance for $2.24, HOWEVER, they do NOT give you the extra $2 for buying 2 Axe’s. The other “regular” Axes have price stickers that say $3.99 and then (on the right hand side of the sticker) when you buy 2 save $2 with the price being $2.99.
The clearanced $2.24 ones do NOT say that…they merely state the price of $2.24. And sure enough, I did not get the extra $2 for purchasing 2 at the register. So it was not a money maker but at $.24 each still a great price!
There are also small gift sets for $4.99, and when you buy 2 they are $3.99 (get $2 when you buy 2) and that price is clearly marked as well. So I used the $3 holiday set coupon on those, making them $.99
