My 2010 Savings.com Save Up Experience!

As many of you know, I was so blessed to recently have the opportunity to attend the Savings.com Save Up conference in Chicago as a 2010 Deal Pro. Simply put, the experience was one that I will never forget. I promised you all a recap, so here it is!

First of all, the Savings.com team went out of their way to make us all feel very welcome. The James hotel was absolutely beautiful. Although it was a bit of an experience making it from the O’Hare airport to the hotel, I was immediately welcomed by the Savings.com team as well as a few other Deal Pros that I’ve met in the past and many new ones. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting that I immediately felt at home. It isn’t often that I get to spend time with other bloggers that understand exactly what I do and why I am passionate about it.

Just a short while after arriving at the hotel, we got to take a trolley over to Ginos East for a very yummy pizza dinner…at which I ate way too much. I had the pleasure of enjoying dinner with Coupon Mom, The Coupon Princess,  My Chicago Mommy, The Thrifty Mama, and IGoBOGO. We chatted it up about all things blogging and deal related throughout dinner.

After returning back to the hotel Coupon Mom was so generous to spend hours talking to me and several other bloggers of ways that we can improve our websites. Although she is pretty much famous and has been on Oprah you totally couldn’t tell. She was so down to earth and kind. After a few hours of chatting I was exhausted and pretty much fell right asleep after getting back to my room.

Friday was another fun packed and amazing day. The Deal Pros spent most of our time getting to know each other better and learning how to continue to improve our websites from the incredible Savings.com team. We learned about SEO, Media, creativity, decorating for Christmas, homemade gifts and a ton more. We also got to hear Stephanie speak about many things including why we do. It really hit home with all of the Deal Pros. Many of us were brought to tears by her words. That evening we had another awesome dinner which I again ate WAY too much at. After dinner a few of us stayed up late chatting in the lobby. One of the Deal Pros (Penny) even recognized an actor from Lost. Jen and I didn’t quite believe him at first but, he eventually proved us wrong.

Saturday was yet another awesome day with some incredible presentations from other Deal Pros. They all did such an amazing job…I could have sat there and listened to them talk all day long. At the end of the day Loren (Savings.com CEO) spoke and I was amazed at his humbleness, generosity, and honesty. That actually goes for the entire Savings.com team that I had the pleasure of meeting. They all did an absolutely incredible job of organizing and implementing Save Up and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. I am thrilled that I will have the pleasure of working with them and all of the other Deal Pros all year long!
