Update: I have randomly selected the winner for this giveaway! Congratulations to Jenn S! Please watch for an e-mail from me in your inbox and congratulations!! Thanks to everyone who entered! 🙂
I’ve never built a cheese board before, but if there is one thing in the world that I love it’s cheese! After all, I grew up in Wisconsin, so I must have been born with the “cheesehead gene”. 😉
When Albertsons reached out to me with an opportunity to try out some of their gourmet cheeses and to build my own cheese board of course I was game! In fact, I had a holiday party coming up and a cheese board sounded like the perfect thing to bring, so I was excited to put my cheese board building skills to the test.
The thought of building a cheese board was a little intimidating at first, but once I selected some yummy cheeses and started putting it all together I actually found it to be a lot of fun and somewhat similar to creating a piece of artwork.
While I was shopping for my cheese board I focused on selecting cheeses and other items for my board that would offer a variety of tastes, textures and colors. Of course fruit and nuts always the perfect compliment for cheese, so I decided to take that route!
Here is the recipe for the cheese board that I created:
[print_recipe]
Homemade Gourmet Cheese Board
Cheeses
Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar 8oz
Emmi Emmentaler Swiss 6oz
Rising Sun Farms Gorgonzola Cheese Torta 9oz
Culinary Circle Garlic and Herbs Goat Cheese 4oz
La Bonne Vie Double Creme Brie 7oz
Arla Dofino Gouda 8oz
Treasure Cave Blue Cheese 5.5oz
Bel Gioioso Fontina 5oz
Compliments
Assorted Cracker Thins
Almonds
Walnuts
Dried Apricots
Dried Cranberries
Raspberry Jam
Grapes
Pomegranate Seeds
I created my board for a party with around 20 guests, so I included a rather wide selection of items. If you have a gathering with a smaller number of guests you could easily create a similar board, just on a smaller scale.

Who knew that building a cheese board could be so much fun?!
I loved that Albertsons carried a large selection of cheeses that were ALL delicious, so I didn’t have to be a cheese connoisseur to create a tasty board!
Not only that, but it was the hit of the party! Everyone had a lot of fun coming up with different combinations of cheeses and compliments to go snack on – it turned out to be the perfect appetizer with a little something for everyone.
I see many more cheese boards in my future; which is why I’m so excited that Albertsons is going to have their gourmet cheese selection on sale for 25% off next week – just in time for Thanksgiving! I’ll be sharing more details about this sale in a few days.
Ready to create your own cheese board?! If I can do it – I know you can too and here is a sweet incentive to get you started!

We got a block of pesto cheese from Sam’s Club a few months ago – it was DELICIOUS!!! We made a sauce out of it and just plain ate it. We love to try new cheeses, just wish they were a bit cheaper!

When I saw this post it reminded me of a cream cheese appetizer I fell in love with at a party. It’s a block of cream cheese with pepper jelly poured over the top, Then you dip crackers into it. This would be my favorite cheese appetizer. My favorite cheese for everyday consumption is cheddar.
When you say entries into this giveaway are unlimited, does that mean I can post numerous comments to increase my chances or does it mean I can do all 4 options above, so my name would be entered 4 times? Thanks.
