I whipped up these Hot Chocolate Kits for a housewarming party earlier this year and they were an absolute hit! My friends are still talking about them months later. 🙂
These kits are great to keep on hand for unexpected gifts and are wonderful to give to neighbors, teachers, co-workers, Christmas party guests – really anyone in your life!

Homemade Hot Chocolate Kits in a Jar
Ingredients:
Quart Size Mason Jar
3/4 cup non-fat dry milk powder
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup chocolate chips
6 mini crushed candy canes or 1 regular size crushed candy cane
1/4 cup mini marshmallows
**Multiply ingredients by number of jars you want to make.
Directions:
1. Layer each ingredient (in order) inside of your mason jar. Use a small scoop or spoon in order to keep the ingredients from getting all over the sides of the jar as you put them in.
2. Tightly screw on lid and decorate with a festive colored ribbon.
3. To serve just remove marshmallows, replace lid and shake up the remaining ingredients until combined.
4. Serve 1/2 cup of hot chocolate mix mixed into 8 ounces of hot water until dissolved. Place a few marshmallows on top. Allow to cool enough until it’s comfortable to drink and then enjoy!
If you prefer to use smaller pint size jars, you will just want to cut down the ingredients to fit the size of your jar. 😉
