I cannot use commercial liquid soaps because of the chemicals and additives in them (they inflame my hyper-sensitive skin – I even carry a small bar in a bag for public restrooms). It is much easier to find bar soaps that are made completely out of things I know are okay for my skin. I am mostly used to using bars by the sink now, but may give this a try in the fall.

Does it matter what brand or kind of bar soap you use? I've wanted to try this with all my small pieces of left over soap that's too small to use but I have never tried it yet. Thanks!

to be honest, the various forms of soap are so cheap at any Dollar store that i would not spend my time doing this…
