That stinks Frazzled Mom. I have not had any bad experiences at my Family dollar. Like you said cashiers are very nice.

I found some great deals at FamilyDollar last week that I could combine with PG Saver insert coupons. I was excited; however, my experience at my local FamilyDollar (Ware, MA) wasn't good.
First, I have to point out this wasn't the fault of the cashier who wanted me to get the coupon deals, but the cashier was having trouble getting all but the first coupon to go through the scanner. She finally was able to get it to work by re-ringing up my order and scanning the coupon after each item was scanned (opposed to scanning all the items then scanning all the coupons). I must have stood at the checkout for 20 minutes.
And then once I got home, I realized while the coupons were taken off, only one of the items was rung up with the sales price; all of the other items I was changed full price. I know I'm supposed to watch the register, but based on my experience and my feeling that time is money; I have concluded that my local FamilyDollar is more trouble than it is worth. I was going to go back and try to get the sales price taken off, but I haven't had a chance and now it has been over a week so I'm not sure FamilyDollar will credit me for the missed sales.
Maybe other FamilyDollars are better than mine, and I must stress, the cashier was nice – but I don't plan to go back.

FYI, a new Family Dollar store is opening in Bennett (east on I-70)tomorrow. They are a special grand opening ad with sales. I can give you the info if you want. Prices are good through the 18th.
