We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
Romans 5:3-4
For me, this is one of those verses that is all fine and dandy when life is going well, but when the world comes crashing down it is an entirely different story. I don’t know about you, but when the going gets tough for me character or endurance are pretty much the last things that I’m focusing on.
The wonderful thing about this is that the more trials that we encounter in this life, the more opportunities we have to see God’s faithfulness. We walk through life climbing mountains and sometimes trudging through valleys, but with each step forward that we take into the future we leave behind us a beautiful landscape that has created the person that we are today.

I am right with you Ann it has been raining on us lately. The saying when it rains it pours…well I have been drenched for the last 5 months hoping for some sunshine soon. Still haven’t figured out what I am supposed to be learning, but maybe someday I will understand.

This made me think of James 1:2 “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.” It never ceases to amaze me how when you are going through something God’s word shows up in the strangest places to encourage. Thanks for everything you do Jennie. You amaze me 🙂 Thanks for posting this today.
