Faithful Friday: A Perfect Love

1 John 4:18 (NLT)
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

It has taken me a long time to understand this verse and apply it to my life…and honestly, I’m still working on it! 😉 I often find it amazing how a few simple sentances can contain so much wisdom and instruction.

God’s plans and purposes for each of our lives are beautifully unique. He knows and understands us like we cannot even imagine. He knows our fears, the areas in which we struggle and our hearts deepest desires. Even if you do not know Him or are not walking with Him at the moment…he still knows all these things and loves you every bit as much. How cool is that! 😉 It is when we allow ourselves to truely experiece and bask in the presence of this unfailing and unchanging love that we can defeat fear in our lives.
