For this week’s Faithful Friday post I thought I’d share something a little different than I normally do. One of my very close friends shared this Baptism Montage video from her church with me and I thought it was pretty powerful. Enjoy!
Discussion: Have you been baptized? If yes, when? If no, have you considered it?
I was baptized when I was a baby by my parents and then I was actually baptized again when I was 22 at my church. Prior to the second time I was baptized I went through a six week class to learn about it first and really enjoyed the opportunity to study what the Bible says about baptism. I love this quote from Vance Haver:
“We may never be martyrs but we can die to self, to sin, to the world, to our plans and ambitions. That is the significance of baptism; we died with Christ and rose to new life.”

I was baptized 24 years ago at the age of 17 and by the grace of God have remained faithful since AND praise Him, have now witnessed all three of my children each make their own commitments through baptism (the youngest just this past December)! My husband has been a Christian for 31 years – God is good!!

That was beautiful. Thank you so much for bringing that to my Friday. I was saved on 4/21 of this year and baptized last weekend at my church after a Foundations class on the Believers Baptism. I have never felt more relieved or devoted than when I identified with Christ and gave my public declaration of Him as the WAY. <3

Thanks for sharing Jenny. I was baptized in 1999 at the age of 19 and I too studied the Bible for a few months before making that decision. One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 16:9 “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Truly at that time I had many plans of my own but God led to him and I am so thankful. Happy Friday.
