There are just five days left to make your donations for 2011. Whether you are donating money or if you are donating items from your home that you are no longer using, all donations must be made by December 31, 2011.
If you are having a hard time thinking up items that you might be able to donate, here are a few to get the wheels turning:
Clothing
Food
Cleaning Supplies
Health and Beauty Items
Furniture
Electronics
Baby Gear
Games
Appliances
Tools
Books
Naughty Children (so just kidding! ;))
Don’t forget to ask for receipts for the items you are donating. If you are unsure of the value that you can deduct for your donations, you can use Turbo Tax’s online ItsDeductible tool for free to determine what your items are worth!

Thank you for posting this Jennie!
I donate unwanted ‘stuffs’ at least once a month. I don’t like excess and clutter so I’m always cleaning out something. I will definitely use the estimator tool and I hope your post motivates others to do the same. What many people do not know is that very little goes to waste at second hand stores, if it won’t sell at the store, it eventually ends up bundled in 1000 lb. blocks and shipped to other countries where people live in true poverty.
