Needless to say gardening is just not a skill that I’m very talented at, but I’m quite determined to allow my kids the chance to try their hands at growing some vegetables this year…and yes, maybe just maybe I can help them out a little bit too. 😉
I’m really thinking about going the raised bed route, and spotted this Cedar Raised Garden Bed for only $29.99 over at Home Depot. It is 4-foot-by-4-foot, and sounds like it would be quite easy to assemble, as joints are dovetailed.
Here are some additional details:
Creating a bountiful garden has never been easier than with the Greenes 4-foot-by-4-foot Dovetail Cedar Raised Garden Kit. The dovetail joints make frame assembly a breeze: Simply slide the boards by hand into the corner joints for a solid and secure garden frame. Set the frame on any level outdoor space, add soil and plants or seeds, and begin growing the garden you’ve always dreamed of.
At the moment it doesn’t appear that this item is available for shipping, so you’ll have to use the store inventory checker to locate the ones that are available, and are the closest to you.
The easiest way to find this raised garden bed on the Home Depot Website is by searching for Internet Number 202520884.

Silly question on planting in general … does anyone have a tried and true way to keep stray feline fuzzies out of gardens and such?
I’m going to go pick one of these up and haven’t had a garden before but when I see this box, I think like a fuzzball would. Needless to say a box this big could be quite an adventure 🙂
Thought maybe there might be a plant that a person could grow that would keep cats away, without hurting them. Probably squirrels too, huh?
Raven says
Putting chicken wire around it will help keep cats away the best. Could always plant catnip elsewhere too lol (joking about that one),
Hazel says
LOL Raven … that would be a hoot. The squirrels and cats doing backflips all over the place. Now ya got me thinking big time! Wonder if squirrels would munch catnip?
Little song just entered the brain … Ray Stevens. The day the squirrel went berserk …

Thank you! I am planning to start a small garden this summer, and I’ve been looking for a 4×4 raised bed, but they were all a little too expensive. This is amazing! Now I can take that gardening class I signed up for without wondering how I’m going to put it to use!
